ToyoTechs provides state-of-the-art mechanical and electrical repairs exclusively to Toyota, Lexus and Scion automobiles. In fact, we were the first independent shop in Georgia to be given access to Toyota Information Systems, known as TIS, a web-based information system for Toyota, Lexus and Scion automobiles.

About Fred

Fred Johnson, the owner of ToyoTechs, is a Master Technician who began specializing in Toyota vehicles back in the late 1980s when they started getting very popular, and then later with Lexus and Scion as they came along. He started working on cars in high school in 1973, and after spending a lot of time in sales in the service advising side of the business at large dealerships, he left the corporate world to work for a small independent repair service center.

He was glad to be out of the politically charged environment of big corporate dealerships, and really liked the freedom that came with working for a small company. “It was so refreshing that I decided that I never really wanted to go back to corporate type big dealer work anymore. And I ended up actually purchasing the shop I was managing in 1987 and that’s how I kind of got going in my own business, he said.  That shop located on Buford Highway in Chamblee, Import AutoWorks, specialized in service and repairs to Volkswagens.

In 1998, Fred was able to buy his own building. The shop was moved to the current location and the name changed to ToyoTechs to reflect the business’s focus on Toyota vehicles. Since 1998 ToyoTechs has grown to be one of the most trusted and busiest shops in the Atlanta area. We now have a second shop on Peachtree Blvd with the focus on Toyota Lexus trucks and large SUVs.

Today Fred employs about 20 outstanding professionals.
