Just as our bodies need more attention as we age, our cars do also. But ironically, many people tend to take less care of their vehicles as they get older. The recommendation for when your car should have its initial transmission flush varies by the model of your Toyota or Scion. Typically the initial flush is recommended around 60,000 miles, and then every 30,000 miles after that. Some newer cars even have transmission fluids that are said to last a lifetime. However, ToyoTechs recommends the transmission be flushed on these vehicles at the 100,000-mile mark, because we believe that not servicing your transmission at all is risky. Replacing a transmission is a very expensive repair that can cost between $3,000-$5,000 or even more so why take that risk? As miles are put on a car, the transmission experiences a lot of friction, plus wear and tear, and the fluid can get really dirty. This dirt can deposit at the bottom of your transmission, clog up filters, or get caught in the shift solenoids, valve body, drums or other parts of your car. Give us a call today to prolong the life of your transmission.
