Even though your car can go much farther on synthetic motor oil than it can with conventional oil, many manufacturers don’t recognize that fact. And they often still want you to come in every 5,000 miles, even though synthetic oil can easily go 7,000 miles. At ToyoTechs, we understand the efficiency and expense of synthetic motor oils, so our reminder sticker on your car will show much longer mileage intervals, usually of 7,000-7,500 miles.

More About Synthetic Motor Oils

Why would someone not use synthetic oil in their vehicle? Price? Synthetic oil costs more, but does it really? If your concern is the cost of the synthetic service, remember you go farther so the price washes out over time.

In general, with synthetic motor oils, you simply don’t need to change the oil every 5,000 miles. However, a lot can still depend on how you drive your car. If you’re hard on your car and do a lot of in-town driving, we may recommend more frequent intervals. On the other hand, if you do a lot of freeway driving on long trips, that’s much easier on your car, and we take that into account when giving our recommendations.

What to Expect at the 5,000-Mile Service:

At 5,000 miles, you can expect us to do the following:

  • Rotate the tires if needed.
  • Check the air and oil filters.
  • Check safety components.
  • Determine if any other maintenance or repairs are needed.
