Power door locks used to be an option on most vehicles, but these days it’s hard to find a vehicle without them. What can go wrong? There’s an actuator motor built into the latching mechanism which is the electrical component that locks and unlocks the door. When this fails, most service shops will replace the entire door latch assembly because the motor is built in to it. Unfortunately it's only available at the dealer, costing upwards of $800 per door. If you have two or three doors that need repair, it's quite a costly repair. We used to do this too until we figured out how to effectively repair them without replacing the entire latch. Repairing instead of replacing costs $300-$350 each, which is much less expensive. In fact, we’re one of the few shops in the entire country experienced at doing this repair.

Power Window failures usually occur because of general problems with the electrical motor, the lifting and lowering mechanism (regulator), attaching bolts or the operation switches. Sometimes there may be issues with the wiring, causing an electrical short or loss of power to the switches. The cables or brackets can break or often it’s just a loose bolt. In order to repair the issue, the door panel must be removed and tests made to determine the needed repair. In either case we are experts at determining the repair needed, not wasting valuable diagnostic time.

Climate Control Servo Motors are components that open and close various doors in the dash that control airflow as in defrost, feet or center. They also blend hot and cold air to reach or maintain desired cabin temperature. It is basically a similar part to that used in the power door locks. We rebuild them most of the time because it does save you money.
